Job summary

The University Recreation Group Fitness Instructor at University of West Georgia leads safe, engaging fitness classes for students, faculty, and staff. You will plan workouts, demonstrate proper techniques, and motivate participants to reach individual goals in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

This is a temporary, part-time role with potential promotion to a Personal Trainer after certification. CPR/AED certification is required within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be UWG student.
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
• Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
• CPR/AED certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead group fitness classes for students, faculty, and staff; ensure safety and inclusivity.
• Plan and deliver structured workouts; demonstrate proper techniques.
• Motivate participants to achieve individual fitness goals; monitor and adjust as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe fitness environment; manage risk and participant safety.
• Possibility to be promoted to a Personal Trainer upon obtaining the required certification.
