Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Front Desk Student Assistant for the Computer Science department. The role supports front desk reception and administrative tasks, with a schedule to be determined at hiring. Open to Work-Study and Non-Work Study students, ~19 hours weekly, starting August 2026 and continuing through tenure.

On-site at the Dell Gates Complex. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, mailroom duties, and office support; strong communication and team collaboration

Qualifications

• Must be a current, full-time undergraduate student.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to reliably adhere to CS policies and instructions.
• Experience with most standard office technology and software.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the department’s administrative suite front desk.
• Greet and assist staff, faculty, and visitors to the department.
• Maintain and organize the Administrative Suite and mailroom.
• Sort and deliver mail and packages received in the CS mailroom.
• Maintain the CS mailroom copiers.
• Assist with catering setup and taken down for department meetings and faculty candidate talks.
• Manage the lost and found log.
• Other duties as assigned.
