Job summary

Emerson College in Boston seeks a Career & Life Design Specialist to coach students and alumni using life design frameworks, helping explore careers, make decisions, and develop meaningful pathways.

You will deliver 1:1 and small-group coaching, align with Career Communities, partner with faculty, and contribute to classroom and program design while building relationships with employers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, Organizational Psychology, or related field or equivalent experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in career coaching, advising, student development, or professional coaching required.
• Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, or classroom-based engagement required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-impact 1:1 and small-group coaching on career exploration, identity development, job search strategy, and interview preparation.
• Maintain an inclusive coaching approach supporting a wide range of student experiences and goals.
• Coordinate with faculty and Career Communities to align coaching with disciplinary pathways and student interests.
• Deliver guest sessions, embedded workshops, and modules connecting academic learning with career development.
