Palm Beach State College seeks a Financial Aid Specialist to assist prospective and continuing students with all financial aid functions and to guide documentation for appeals. Responsibilities include verifying documents, communicating results, and updating status in aid systems.

Some evenings, weekends, and travel to other PBSC campuses may be required. The role emphasizes customer service, accuracy, and collaboration across college departments to ensure timely aid disbursement and compliance

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required with additional related training.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
• FERPA compliance within 30 days of employment.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to interact positively with diverse populations, including students, faculty, staff and the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Regular physical attendance required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist students via in-person, phone, email and online chat.
• Review financial aid documents for verification accuracy.
• Process and log documents in the system.
• Update Financial Aid systems to indicate ready-to-verify status and disbursement readiness.
• Coordinate with other departments and external vendors as needed.
• Liaise among departments and communicate information to appropriate personnel.
• Greet and assist visitors to the department and provide training on office equipment if needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
