Job summary

Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC seeks a Financial Aid Counselor to serve as the primary contact for current undergraduate and graduate students, evaluating financial aid applications and counseling on aid options to support academic success.

You will collaborate with Admissions, Registrar and Bursar, package and award aid, and promote financial literacy while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to FERPA and Title IX policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in higher education desirable.
• Experience in Admissions or Financial Aid desired.
• Experience with Ellucian Colleague desired.

Responsibilities

• Counsel prospective and current students on Federal, State, and Institutional Aid sources.
• Package and award financial aid (scholarships, work-study, grants, loans, etc.).
• Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Registrar, and Bursar to support enrollment and retention.
• Understand Bursar Office processes to communicate effectively to students.
• Participate in outreach activities including in-person, virtual, and chat-based sessions.
• Review and resolve C-Flag issues from FSA.
• Maintain responsibility for a specific program area (scholarships, state aid, verification, loans, athletics, etc.).
• Assist in processing Cost of Attendance adjustments requests for students.
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor; uphold Campbell University policies including FERPA and Title IX.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
