Job summary

The Howard University is seeking a Student Financial Customer Service Analyst to provide trusted financial guidance to students and families, ensuring accurate account management and fiscal stewardship. This full-time, on-site role requires collaboration with campus offices to support tuition processing and billing compliance.

You will respond to inquiries by phone, email, and in person, including some nontraditional hours, to ensure timely and accurate account updates and excellent student

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
• Experience in customer service and/or financial operations.
• Experience supporting adult or nontraditional learners strongly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work evening or nontraditional hours based on program needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide accurate, empathetic guidance.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze accounts, problem-solve, and coordinate with multiple campus offices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for students, responding to financial inquiries via multiple channels.
• Coordinate with Cashiering, Bursar Systems, Registrar, Auxiliary Services, and Financial Aid to resolve billing issues.
• Educate students on billing policies, deadlines, payment options, and financial implications of actions.
• Document interactions and maintain accurate case notes for timely resolution.
• Provide empathetic guidance to support student persistence and financial clarity.
