Job summary

East Carolina University is seeking multipleHourly Student Employment positions for Facility Managers/Recreation Technicians on-campus in North Carolina. The roles supervise facility operations, ensure safety, assist with access control, and deliver strong customer service while coordinating with CRW staff.

Applicants must be ECU students with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be able to lift 60 pounds; CPR/AED and First Aid must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and manage a minimum of 60 pounds. Heavy lifting is required.
• Flexible work availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and ECU sanctioned breaks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team for a minimum of 8-12 hours per week
• Clearance to operate university vehicles through a driver’s license check
• Obtain valid CPR / AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
• Eligibility for employment: current ECU students, in good standing and meet GPA requirements

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor assigned facilities (ESRC, HSC, NRC or Blount) and resolve conflicts as they arise
• Effectively communicate issues regarding facilities, employees, or participants to necessary personnel
• Work with Recreational Service Attendants for access control and equipment inventory
• Assist other program leaders as needed with situations including discipline and policy enforcement
• Check activity areas for hazards and document conditions
• Provide exemplary customer service and leadership to customers
• Observe participants and maintain control of the facility while enforcing rules and regulations
• Clearly document information concerning facility issues, disciplinary action, or injuries and complete reports
• Use critical thinking to evaluate and prioritize factors to arrive at practical solutions with sound judgment
