Job summary

American University is seeking a part-time Kogod Event Assistant (Student) on the Main Campus in Washington, DC. You will support on-site event management, liaise with the Kogod Event Lead, and help promote sustainable event practices aligned with Kogod’s goals.

Responsibilities

• Support on-site event management for a variety of events as liaison with the Kogod Event Lead.
• Assist with sustainable event practices, waste reduction, and environmentally conscious planning.
• Handle day-to-day operational tasks, catering reviews, and room diagrams.
• Assist with setup, moving furniture, printing, and event materials preparation.
• Monitor RSVP counts, attendee participation, and on-site vendor coordination.
• Troubleshoot minor logistical issues to ensure smooth event execution.
