Job summary

Bowling Green State University seeks a dedicated individual to assist the full-time athletics equipment management staff. The role supports daily operations, equipment distribution, inventory control, and game day requirements while upholding a professional, student-athlete focused environment.

Responsibilities include issuing, laundering, organizing equipment, and ensuring room cleanliness and security. You will assist with storeroom tasks, travel prep, and event setup, with flexible hours

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality where appropriate.
• Dependable with punctuality and reliability.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, move equipment up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and athletic events.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with issuance, collection, fitting, and organization of athletic equipment, apparel, and accessories.
• Perform laundry services: washing, drying, folding, and distribution.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of equipment rooms, storage areas, and laundry facilities.
• Support inventory management: track equipment and apparel, count, report shortages or damages.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for practices, competitions, travel, and special events.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, labeling, and storing new equipment and apparel shipments.
• Inspect equipment for wear or safety issues and report to full-time staff.
• Transport equipment within athletic facilities as needed.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment for practices and events.
• Follow departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.
• Provide professional customer service and maintain relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support athletics equipment operations.
