Job summary

Bowling Green State University is seeking a front desk and arena operations assistant to support pro shop, concessions, public skate sessions, and events. You will assist with registrations, rentals, and daily operations while upholding arena policies and safety standards.

The role requires flexible availability, customer service focus, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. Prior ice arena exposure is a plus and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certification maintained as required.
• Complete required trainings and stay compliant with arena policies.
• Flexible availability to include evenings and weekends.
• Experience in ice hockey or skating is a plus.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard software.

Responsibilities

• Front Desk Operations: Answer phones, process payments, monitor sessions, handle registrations, assist staff.
• Concessions & Sales: Prepare/serve food, manage merch inventory, assist at home games.
• Customer Service: Communicate arena policies, programs, and events to patrons.
• Facility Management: Daily cleaning, keep workspace organized, follow opening/closing procedures.
• Reservations & Events: Process ice Rentals and group reservations, assist with specials.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce arena policies and safety protocols; respond to emergencies.
• Technical Skills: Operate DaySmart Software and use copy machine as needed.
• Communication: Maintain contact via When to Work, Teams, email, and phone per supervisor.
• Administrative: Follow Student Employee Manual, attend meetings, support Athletics' mission.
