MacKay & Somps is seeking a Student Engineer eager to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects in civil engineering. While we are actively interviewing candidates for the Summer 2026 Student Engineer role, we anticipate offers being extended around February of 2027 with a June 2027 start date. Official start date to be confirmed with the successful candidate.

Student Engineers work under the direction ofProject Engineers,Project Managers, andCAD Designers, providing design and production support on a variety of projects, including:
Preparing plans, exhibits, and figures forland developmentandpublic infrastructureprojects
Assisting withgrading, utility, stormwater, and street design
Supportinghydrology and hydraulic calculations
Performing quantity take-offs, basic cost estimating, and data entry
Learning to use design software includingAutoCAD Civil 3Dand Microsoft Office tools
