Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a Student Assistant for the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program. The role supports scholar engagement, case management, outreach, event support, and social media activities on Main Campus (Gainesville, FL).

Responsibilities include coordinating workshops with the Program Coordinator, tracking scholar requirements, and assisting with data-driven reporting. A minimum 15 hours per week commitment and monthly trainings are required; Canvas is used for grading

Qualifications

• Be available to attend monthly in-services and training meetings throughout each semester
• Commit to working a minimum of 15 hours a week
• Attention to detail in composing, editing, and proofreading materials
• Team player who can work independently to achieve a team goal

Responsibilities

• General Program Support: Provide general support and assistance to MFOS team with scholar engagement (emails, meetings, follow-up etc.), case management, student outreach, signature event support, social media posting etc.
• Workshops and Seminar Support: Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to organize and facilitate workshops that address the needs of MFOS scholars and first-gen students. The Student Assistant will assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of workshops as well as workshop management (grading on Canvas).
• Cohort Requirement Support: Provide support in the tracking, management, and reporting of scholar requirements, utilizing data to send early warning notifications, provide alternate assignments, identify at-risk students, and recommend resources to enhance scholar success.
• Other duties as assigned: Assist the MFOS team with various tasks and projects as needed to support program objectives.
