Schedule:

  • Sunday-Friday: 2-5 PM
  • Monday-Thursday: 5:30-9 PM

Salary/Wage Range: Hourly $17.00 to $17.00

THE ROLE

We seek University of Wisconsin students interested in developing communication skills, fundraising knowledge, and expanding networks. The Student Engagement Specialist role offers flexible scheduling, skill development, and a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include cultivating relationships with donors, alumni, and families of the university through telephone and digital interactions, supporting engagement and fundraising efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Implement strategic engagement via calls and digital interactions to connect with alumni, friends, and family.
  • Secure gifts and manage stewardship and relationships with donors in collaboration with the Foundation.
  • Support fundraising strategies and projects, including annual solicitations.
  • Maintain knowledge of university philanthropic priorities to effectively present support cases.
  • Develop connections through timely calls and communications.
  • Utilize institutional resources and databases for donor and volunteer management.
QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must:

  • Work evening and weekend shifts.
  • Manage relationships with colleagues and donors to meet goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of university and alumni data.
  • Have transportation to 701 State Street, Madison, WI.
  • Be enrolled at an accredited college or university, preferably UW.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
  • Leadership roles as Floor Managers, overseeing team training and performance.
  • Participation in professional development series with university and Legends leaders.
  • Networking opportunities with alumni and industry professionals.
  • Enhancement of fundraising and communication skills aligned with organizational strategy.
COMPENSATION
  • Starting at $17/hr, with potential bonuses and raises each semester.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Location: On-site at 701 State Street, Madison.

Physical demands include sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, reaching, standing, walking, and stooping. Vision requirements include close focus and adjustable eyesight.
