Job summary

UC Irvine is seeking a proactive Program Coordinator to manage and coordinate student outreach initiatives within the SOAR program. You will advise on recruitment and retention activities and oversee equipment like laptop loans in partnership with IT.

The role involves supervising eight student employees, scheduling events, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple programs with strict deadlines and diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience coordinating programs, events, or student-focused initiatives in higher education or community settings.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and guide student employees or interns.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with multiple programs and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate SOAR signature programs and events (e.g., Cup of SOAR, Open House, Finals initiatives).
• Advise the Native American Recruitment & Retention Initiative and oversee campus visit programs.
• Manage the laptop loan program: track reservations, coordinate availability, troubleshoot issues with IT.
• Supervise eight student employees (three staff, five interns).
• Oversee day-to-day operations and support staff in SOAR initiatives.
