Job summary

University of California, Irvine is seeking a Program Coordinator to manage SOAR signature programs and student outreach initiatives. You will advise NARRI, oversee campus visit activities, and supervise eight student employees while coordinating daily program operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and experience in higher education settings, with strong organizational and communication skills. This is a temporary, full‑time position with benefits and a focus on student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience coordinating programs, events, or student-focused initiatives in higher education or community settings.
• Experience supervising student employees or interns.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate SOAR signature programs and events.
• Advise the Native American Recruitment & Retention Initiative (NARRI) and oversee campus visit programs.
• Manage the laptop loan program and troubleshoot IT issues with OIT.
• Supervise a team of eight student employees (3 staff, 5 interns).
• Coordinate student programming and support successful SOAR initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education, student affairs, counseling, communications, or related field
