Job summary

Columbus House Dining Services is seeking a College Student to join our team as a Dining Services Assistant under Federal Work-Study. This role assists with meal service, kitchen tasks, and guest interactions in a campus dining environment.

The position is part-time, up to 6 hours per week, scheduled between 12pm and 6pm, Monday through Friday. You will help with inventory, meal preparation, and supervising volunteers while maintaining confidentiality.

• Experience in customer service or hospitality preferred but not required.
• Interest in social work, nutrition, or health topics.

Responsibilities

• Act as one of the main points of contact for clients
• Answer inquiries about meals, menu or dietary needs and respond to client needs
• Assist with cleaning, stocking the kitchen, managing inventory and cleaning dishes
• Assist with meal design, preparation and serving
• Assist in managing volunteers who will help to prepare and serve meals
• Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to client services and information
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience in customer service, hospitality, restaurant service industry preferred but not required
• Interest in social work, nutrition, and/or physical and mental health
• Proficiency in a language other than English is helpful but not required

Hours of Position

Student will be expected to work up to 6 hours per week between the hours of 12pm – 6pm Monday through Friday.
