Summary of Job Duties: The Diagnostic Student Employee produces radiographic images for medical interpretation, interacts with healthcare staff, clerical staff, patient care departments, and patients’ families and visitors. Responsible for performing correct radiologic exams and producing high-quality images while supervising others.

  • Ability to Follow Oral instructions, Read, and Write

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Educates and prepares patients for procedures, reviewing medical history, draping, and positioning, and administering contrast media and medications within scope of practice
  • Assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures
  • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation
  • Monitors patient condition continually, reporting and responding to changes as appropriate
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions, keeping coworkers informed
  • Responsible for daily work assignments
  • Maintains ACR accreditation and complies with JCAHO, FDA, ODH inspections
  • Assists in interviewing, selection, and training of new staff
  • Ensures staff education requirements are met
  • Participates in discipline processes, including counseling
  • Maintains knowledge and skills relevant to duties
  • Keeps rooms stocked and equipment clean according to standards
  • Performs other duties as required or directed
  • Adheres to time and attendance policies and discusses schedule variations with the manager
  • Supports departmental changes to improve workflow and learns new functions as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned
