Summary of Job Duties:

The Diagnostic Student Employee produces radiographic images for medical interpretation, interacts with healthcare staff, clerical staff, patient care departments, and patients’ families and visitors. Responsible for performing correct radiologic exams, producing high-quality images, and supervising others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School/GED Plus Enrolled in a Radiological Technology program
• Registry eligible or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License or must be obtained before the start date
• Ability to Follow Oral instructions, read, and write

Additional Responsibilities:

• Educates and prepares patients for procedures, reviews medical history, positions patients, prepares testing sites, administers contrast media and medications within scope of practice
• Assists physician with diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures
• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes
• Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment
• Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions
• Responsible for daily work assignments
• Maintains accreditation and inspections (JCAHO, FDA, ODH)
• Assists in interviewing, selection, and training of staff
• Ensures staff education requirements are met
• Participates in disciplinary processes
• Keeps current with skills and knowledge
• Keeps rooms stocked and equipment clean
• Adheres to time and attendance policies
• Supports departmental workflow improvements
• Performs other duties as assigned
