Summary of Job Duties: The Diagnostic Student Employee produces radiographic images for medical interpretation, interacts with healthcare staff, clerical staff, patient care departments, and patient's families and visitors. Responsible for performing correct radiologic exams and producing high-quality images while supervising others.

  • Registry eligible or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License or must be obtained before the start date
  • Ability to Follow Oral instructions, read, and write

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Educates and prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites, and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
  • Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes as appropriate
  • Implements safety standards and performs quality control on equipment
  • Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions
  • Responsible for daily work assignments.
  • Maintains accreditation standards and participates in inspections
  • Assists in interviewing, selection, and training of new staff
  • Ensures staff education requirements are met
  • Participates in disciplinary processes when necessary
  • Maintains knowledge and skills to perform duties
  • Keeps rooms stocked and equipment clean
  • Adheres to time and attendance policies
  • Supports departmental improvements and learns new duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
