Job summary

J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Henrico (Campus 087) seeks an Adjunct SDV Instructor to teach and facilitate courses in the SDV program across multiple campus sites, aiming to support student success.

In addition to teaching, the incumbent may serve as SDV program head, assisting the college dean with program health, curriculum, faculty development and scheduling, while traveling between campuses as required.

Salary: commensurate with education and experience, located in the emergency/essential personnel category.

Responsibilities

• Teach and facilitate courses in the SDV program across various campus sites and times as needed to support student success.
• Serve as SDV program head, assisting the school dean with college-wide management duties for academic programs and disciplines, including program health, curriculum, faculty development and evaluation, compliance, scheduling, and staffing.

Special Assignments

• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Assist the agency or state government in emergency declarations by the Governor.
• Travel between campuses as required.

KSA's / Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competency in teaching.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Additional Considerations

• Community college or high school teaching experience.
• Ability to emphasize student‑centered and innovative learning experiences.
• Ability to work effectively with multicultural populations supporting diversity, cultural understanding, and inclusion.

• Operation of a state vehicle (no supervision of employees, no required travel).
