Job summary

University of Nebraska Omaha is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Community Engagement to provide strategic leadership for student-facing community engagement initiatives within the Office of Engagement. The role will develop, implement, and assess programs that connect students with meaningful community opportunities, aligning with university priorities in student success and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

At least two years of related experience in community or political engagement, student life programming, and/or volunteer recruitment and management.
Experience developing, implementing and assessing programs that connect students with community opportunities.
Ability to collaborate with faculty, departments and student organizations to advance engagement goals.

Responsibilities

Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of student community engagement programs, including volunteer opportunities and civic engagement initiatives.
Develop program goals, processes, timelines, coordinate logistics and resources, and evaluate programs for quality, accessibility and impact.
Develop and maintain relationships with faculty/departments and student-facing campus units to expand civic engagement and participation.
Represent the unit on committees and workgroups to align engagement with institutional priorities.
Supervise staff and student workers and support their professional development.
