Job summary

Illinois State University’s College of Applied Science and Technology seeks a motivated student to fill the role of Communications and Special Events student worker for the spring 2027 semester.

You will handle written communication and content for the College’s social media sites and the News.IllinoisState.edu hub, and assist with planning events such as Science and Technology Week, awards receptions, and guest lectures. Start January 2027; work in Turner Hall; pay $20/hour; 15-20 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• An understanding of decorum suitable to a professional office environment.
• Demonstration of oral and written proficiency in the English language.
