Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College is seeking a Student Child Development Center Teacher Assistant to provide warm, nurturing care for children and support daily activities within the development center. You will help prepare learning environments, provide direct care, and help maintain a safe, healthy setting while implementing the program philosophy and promoting effective classroom management.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with varied students, children, and staff.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must pass background check and fingerprinting.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Experience working with young children from birth to five-year-old is desired.
  • Early Childhood Education students are desirable.
