Job summary

Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) seeks an Adjunct Instructor for Veterinary Technology to teach in-person classes for Spring and/or Fall Semester 2027. The role involves delivering course content aligned with syllabus, employing varied instructional methods, and ensuring a respectful learning atmosphere.

Qualified candidates will have an associate degree in Vet Technology (CVMA accredited) or be a licensed veterinarian, plus 3 years of related work experience and the ability to work

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Vet Technology from a CVMA accredited program or a licensed Veterinarian.
  • 3 years of non-teaching-related work experience.
  • Aptitude in small animal care, clinical pathology, radiology, pharmacology/pharmacy, nursing care, animal nutrition, and/or large animal care.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.
  • Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.
  • Fosters a safe and civil learning environment.
  • Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Job Summary

Adjunct Veterinary Technology Instructor to in person classes Spring and/or Fall Semester 2027.

Essential Functions

Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi. Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Vet Technology from a CVMA accredited program or a licensed Veteranarian.
3 years of non-teaching-related work experience.
Aptitude in any of the areas of small animal care, clinical pathology, radiology, pharmacology/pharmacy, nursing care, animal nutrition, and/or large animal care.
Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values, and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.
