Job summary

Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY seeks a Technical Specialist for Student Central to support student needs and the college mission. You will process student communications, manage Campus Card office functions, and keep the Student Central site current.

You will assist the Financial Aid Service Center, guide students through the aid process, and resolve technical issues including Colleague and OnBase tasks; training on regulations and tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop positive relationships within College departments.
• Proficiency with Ellucian Colleague and MS Word/Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts processing of student communications.
• Understand functionality of Campus Card office and fill in as needed.
• Ensures Student Central website information is correct and up to date.
• Assist in Financial Aid Service Center (FASC) per Supervisor directions.
• Assist students with the financial aid process from start to finish, aligned with customer service best practices.
• Provide technical advice and problem-solving assistance; refer to appropriate department when needed.
• Research and train on best practices related to financial aid and regulations.
• Update Raspberry Pi monitor system and fix pointer issues in Colleague.
• Commit indexed OnBase records; monitor texting/chat platform as needed.
• Determine eligibility for Lazer Card transfers (financial aid funds).
• Support Call Center and Front Desk as needed.
