Job summary

Weber State University seeks a flexible Student Career Mentor to support Career Services at the Ogden campus. You will assist students, employers, and visitors in person, by phone, and via email, and help manage Handshake postings and employer accounts.

You will mentor students on résumés, cover letters, and interviewing skills, assist with Handshake/LinkedIn profiles, and help with Career Services events and outreach. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and presentation skills.
• Strong computer skills, comfortable with Microsoft Office including Excel, and able to pick up new technical skills quickly.
• Solid project management skills and good attention to detail.
• To remain eligible for this position, students must enroll as a full‑time student each semester and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA; submit FAFSA for Federal Work‑Study funding unless international.

Responsibilities

• Assist students, employers, and visitors in person, by phone, and through email.
• Review student appointments, employer accounts, and job postings in Handshake.
• Help maintain a welcoming and professional office environment.
• Meet individually with students to help strengthen résumés, cover letters, and interviewing skills; assist with Handshake and LinkedIn profiles.
• Support Career Services events and give presentations on career topics; assist with marketing and outreach.
