Job summary

Indiana University’s O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Bloomington is seeking a Careers Advisor to guide undergraduate and graduate students in exploring career paths, preparing resumes, networking, internships, and job search strategies.

You will design and deliver career education programs, build partnerships with employers, administer internship courses, and help align services with workforce trends, reporting to the Career Services leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
• 2 years in career consulting or related field.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Maintains a high degree of professionalism.
• Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills.
• Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
• Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty.
• Highly thorough and dependable.
• Counseling skills, program development skills, understanding of college student success, knowledge of career development services in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group career coaching to undergraduate students on career exploration, job searches, networking, interviewing, resume development, LinkedIn, and graduate school prep.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver career education programs for graduate students (workshops, panels, events).
• Administer internship courses and oversee student participation and progress.
• Cultivate and maintain partnerships with employers, alumni, faculty, student organizations to expand opportunities.
• Collaborate with Career Hub leadership to develop career initiatives and share workforce insights.
• Research employment markets and translate market intelligence into actionable guidance and resources.
