Job summary

Ascension Parish School Board, Gonzales Middle School, Gonzales, LA, is seeking an ISSP Aide to provide clerical oversight for students with behavior needs and to support classroom teachers.

The role reports to the Principal, is assigned to a 180-day term, and requires the Para Pro criteria or equivalent education. Starting immediately, full-time 504 position with duties across counseling referrals and supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Education/certification must be Highly Qualified.
• Pass the ETS Para-Pro Assessment with a 450 or higher.
• Two years (48 sem credit hours) from an approved college; partial course requirements specified.
• Earned an Associate’s Degree from an approved institution.

Responsibilities

• Handles behavior referrals from teachers or other staff as directed by the principal.
• Requests assignments for students from teachers and communicates with them.
• Explains assignments to students and checks their work, providing assistance as needed.
• Oversees recess detentions and assigns work.
• Maintains records and follows up on student behavior plans and suspensions.
