Job summary

Mead School District in Mead, WA is seeking a Behavior Intervention Technician to support students with social, emotional, adaptive, and behavioral needs at Prairie View Elementary. This role involves individualized instruction, small group support, data collection and analysis, and de-escalation techniques.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, with collaboration across special and general education staff and opportunities for professional development in Special Education topics.

Qualifications

• Previous education and experience as a Behavior Tech/RBT.
• MANDT or Right Response training, or willing to complete district training in year one.
• Experience with children and youth with disabilities.
• Training with diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural groups.
• Current first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Washington Special Education certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support focusing on behavior, social, and adaptive skills.
• Monitor progress, collect and analyze data, and support de-escalation.
• Collaborate with special and general education staff on intervention strategies.
• Deliver professional development on related Special Education topics.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety procedures.
• Support in managing behavior plans and data-driven decisions.
