Job summary

Gwynedd Mercy University seeks an inaugural Coordinator for Student Basic Needs at Gwynedd Valley, PA. This full-time role oversees Catherine’s Cupboard, the campus food pantry and related programs to offset student costs.

The coordinator will manage daily pantry operations, volunteer schedules, inventory, stock acquisition, and outreach within the GMercyU community. Strong customer service and collaborative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work periodic evenings and weekends.
• Movement and relocation of food containers (bags/boxes), up to 30 lbs.
• Experience with food pantry operations or higher education is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deploy helping skills appropriately.
• Familiarity with social media applications (Instagram, Facebook).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations of Catherine’s Cupboard, including pantry, self-serve pantries, and related programs.
• Create and communicate weekly volunteer, student worker, and intern schedules.
• Publicize services and pantry locations to the GMercyU community.
• Respond to student inquiries via email or in person.
• Maintain pantry inventory and obtain new stock weekly.
• Attend department, division, and institution-wide meetings as appropriate.
• Collaborate with campus departments and partners to increase program awareness.
