Sam Houston State University is seeking a Student Employee-LSC Technical Services (Tech Crew) to support live events at the Lowman Student Center. This position involves operating sound and lighting equipment, assisting with stage management, rigging, and AV setup, and may require heavy lifting and unusual hours.

The role is a College Work Study position with a pay rate of $10.25 per hour and up to 28 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a Sam Houston State University student.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds, and work with potentially unusual hours.
• Experience or interest in AV/Sound tech is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate sound and light boards, including setup, teardown, and programming.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
• Load-in equipment in basic rigging environments using a scissor lift.
• Provide technical support for laptops and projectors.
• Assist with stage management, rigging safety, lighting and sound management.
• Deliver excellent customer service before, during and after events.
