Job summary

San Jose/Evergreen Community College District seeks a Counselor (General/Student Athletics) at San Jose City College. The role is full-time, 11-month, non-tenured, with responsibilities across counseling duties and student-athlete eligibility.

Responsibilities include meeting record-keeping, professional development, and collaboration with athletics staff. Requires a Master’s in counseling or equivalent with MFT license option; bilingual ability preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling or related field as listed in the education section.
• Equivalent qualification allows Bachelor's with MFT license as alternative per title 5, section 53410.1.
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish or Vietnamese is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in assigned discipline by communicating subject matter clearly and effectively.
• Adapt methodologies for students with special needs and different learning styles.
• Participate in faculty responsibilities such as course and curriculum development and review, student learning outcomes assessment, and program review.
