Job summary

Penn State University Park invites applications for an Academic Support Assistant (ASA) in the Morgan Academic Center to support student-athletes with tailored academic plans and one-on-one coaching. The role is 9 months with renewal potential and does not include graduate tuition, fees, or benefits.

A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred, and strong communication, organization, and professionalism are essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend Emerging Professionals programming and monthly meetings.
• Attend weekly/bi-weekly learning services and academic adviser meetings.
• Work one-on-one with assigned student-athletes to assess needs and create tailored academic support plans.
• Enhance learning in goal setting, time management, organization, note-taking, reading and writing, study and test prep, self-advocacy, and critical thinking.
• Monitor progress with weekly appointments; complete session reports and uphold MAC policies and NCAA regulations.
