The Pennsylvania State University’s Morgan Academic Center is seeking a Football Academic Support Assistant to assist advisers in supporting a diverse caseload of student‑athletes. This 9‑month role offers a chance to gain experience in academic support for student‑athletes, with a schedule of up to 25 hours per week across daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and professionalism skills.
• Experience working with diverse caseloads or student-athletes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend Emerging Professionals programming and monthly meetings.
• Attend weekly/bi‑weekly learning services and academic adviser meetings.
• Work one‑on‑one with an assigned caseload of student‑athletes by assessing academic needs and providing tailored instructional support.
• Enhance learning in areas such as goal setting, time management, organization, note‑taking, reading and writing, study and test prep.
• Monitor student progress and schedule weekly appointments with assigned students.
• Complete session reports and uphold MAC policies and NCAA/B1G Ten regulations.
• Assist Learning Services staff with projects to improve MAC’s Learning Services unit and tutoring/mentoring activities.
• Maintain consistent communication with supervisor and MAC staff and students.
