Job summary

Valparaiso University seeks an Academic Support Coordinator to monitor weekly academic progress for Division I student-athletes and prepare regular reports for head coaches. The role also tracks continuing and transfer eligibility and manages APP/APR information.

You will assist student-athletes in accessing campus resources and coordinate with campus and faculty advisors to support registration and academic success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, with a preferred degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience working with Division I student‑athletes.
• Master’s degree and 2 years of experience working in academic support services for student‑athletes is preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track weekly academic progress through weekly meetings
• Provide a weekly report to all head coaches regarding academic performance; evaluate the performance of at‑risk student‑athletes and weekly study hall and tutoring hours
• Track continuing and transfer eligibility and maintain designated information for APP and APR purposes
• Assist student‑athletes in obtaining and utilizing campus resources
• Communicate with campus and faculty advisors regarding student‑athlete registration
