Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience advising student-athletes at the intercollegiate level.
• Experience in advising/counseling student-athletes.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse individuals.
• Master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive learning strategies and academic coaching, developing individual learning and study plans for an assigned caseload of at-risk student athletes.
• Develop and utilize screening tools for incoming freshmen and transfers to identify potential academic risk.
• Assist students with academic and social adjustment issues and refer to campus partners as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate academic progress toward degree and help students understand degree requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of advising meetings and ensure compliance with NCAA and SIAC rules.
