Job Summary
  • Demonstrate leadership by overseeing day‑to‑day operations of the radio station, including on‑air shows, talent, events/remotes, equipment, and station organization.
  • Display understanding of current industry tools and technology to train students for shows and podcasts (e.g., Board, Recording, WideOrbit, LIVE Copy).
  • Apply professional ethical principles, working ethically to pursue truth, accuracy, fairness, and diversity through regular, timely scheduling of the station.
  • Ensure shows and podcasts elements are inserted into the system promptly, including Live Copy.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Operations Manager to conduct research and evaluate data to improve on‑air schedules.
  • Think critically, creatively, and independently to develop ideas for programs and features that the station could produce.
  • Work teamwork with the Public Relations Director, Remote Coordinator, and Content Marketing Director to plan and execute station and live‑show events.
  • Critically evaluate the work of yourself and others by listening for on‑air quality issues.
  • Practice written and oral communication to provide feedback to on‑air entities.
  • Apply basic numerical and statistical concepts to gather station listenership analytics.
  • Attend or lead staff leadership and job‑skill enhancement training.
  • Maintain professionalism while overseeing other station members and their duties.
  • Apply current tools and technologies to assist with station remotes and events.
  • Utilize teamwork and leadership to train and mentor staff and volunteers.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Report any violations to the General Manager or Operations Manager.
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of one or more of the following courses: in‑house WIT Training Course, COMM 3351 Radio Program Production, COMM 3352 Fundamentals of Television Production, COMM 3353 Fundamentals of Film & Video Production, COMM 4421 Radio Practicum, COMM 4485 Sports Communication, COMM 3354 Digital Social Media & Society.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Current UWG student employed in at least 6 credit hours.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skill with Adobe Audition.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Frequently moving audio/visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across campus for various classroom and event needs.
