Job summary

The University of West Georgia is seeking a Student Assistant for West Georgia Outdoors to support climbing wall and rental center operations. You will provide friendly customer service, help maintain safety standards, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.

The role may include assisting with off-campus trips and may require flexible shifts. Ideal candidates are UWG students enrolled in at least 6 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA and CPR/AED certification or willing to obtain it

Qualifications

• Current University of West Georgia student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and maintaining a 2.0 GPA.
• CPR/AED certification required or obtained within 3 months of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Assist with West Georgia Outdoors operations at the climbing wall and rental center.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain safety standards.
• Help foster a welcoming environment for all patrons and attend off-campus trips.

Job Summary

Student employees for West Georgia Outdoors are responsible for assisting with the Climbing Wall and Rental Center operations. Employees are expected to provide excellent customer service, maintain safety standards, and help foster a welcoming and engaging environment for all patrons. Students will also assist and attend off‑campus trips.

Required Qualifications

• Current University of West Georgia student
• Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
• Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
• CPR/AED certification is required or must be obtained within 3 months of hiring.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to climb indoor and outdoor rock walls
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Interest in rock wall climbing, outdoor activities, and/or equipment handling.
