Job summary

  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and office events; support general office functions.

Title: Student Assistant - OIE Employee Classification: Student Help Regular Division Name: Academic Affairs Department: Office of International Engagement

Job Summary

The International House is responsible for promoting international education and cross-cultural understanding on a wide scale throughout the Illinois State University campus and constantly seeks new and innovative ways to engage American and international students in a global dialogue.

Duties/responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  1. Assist the I-House Associate Director and Program Coordinator in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services offered to international students, international guests, and participants in specialized, short-term programs. This will include night and weekend programs.
  2. Assist the Office Manager with the operation of the OIE Front Desk on the second floor of Fell Hall.
  3. Assist with monitoring and moderating of OIE social media networks, including developing and posting marketing materials for I-House programs.
  4. Participate in OIE staff functions, including regular staff meetings, training, office events, and supporting office functions.
  5. Other duties as assigned, depending on candidate's abilities, expertise, and departmental needs.
Additional Information

This is a student worker position. The employee in this position will be evaluated at the end of each semester to determine renewal of employment. This appointment is subject to the availability of funds.

Student employees are eligible to participate in the University’s 403(b) Plan. More information can be found here.

Pay Rate

$15.00/hour-$18.00/hour

Preferred Qualifications

Work Hours

20-28 hours per week. Schedule will vary. May require some evenings and weekend hours.
