Del Mar College seeks a Student Assistant - Lab Technician to support the Architecture Labs Pool. The role involves setting up and printing projects on 3D printers and laser cutters, assisting with architectural modeling tasks, and helping maintain the Wood and Metals Shops.
Ideal candidates are current Del Mar College students enrolled in at least 2 courses (6 credits each Fall & Spring) and able to work evenings/weekends. Prior lab experience is a plus.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Student Assistant assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. AN APPLICATION IS VALID FOR ONE YEAR, AT WHICH TIME APPLICANTS WISHING TO REMAIN IN THE POOL MUST REAPPLY AND UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION.

Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to set up and print various projects on the 3D printers, laser cutters, and other architectural modeling technology and/or assisting the Architecture Shop Manager in setting up, cleaning, and monitoring the Wood and Metals Shops.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 2 courses earning 6 credit hours each Fall & Spring semesters while employed.
Preferred Qualifications
Second year Architectural/Drafting Technology or Engineering student.

Receive, setup, and print student files for 3D printing, laser cutters, and other architectural modeling technology and/or be able to assist students with various projects in the Wood and Metals Shops.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the labs/shops. Adhere to and assist in developing lab/shop policies and procedures. Maintain entry logs. Maintain lab/shop consumable supply inventory.

Provide support to faculty and staff. Must be available to work evenings and weekends in addition to regular business hours as necessary.
