Job summary

Lake Sumter State College in Leesburg, FL is seeking an entry-level Student Assistant to support faculty and staff with department operations. This part-time position offers flexible hours (20–25 per week) and is open to currently enrolled students.

You will communicate with admitted and prospective students to guide enrollment, assist with admissions inquiries, and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned while upholding LSSC's Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating values.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College with minimum 6 credit hours.
• Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
• Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through enrollment via email, phone, text, and Zoom.
• Answer inquiries about admissions deadlines, academic programs, orientation, transcripts, and Florida Residency.
• Follow up with students as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for a current student to gain valuable work experience while contributing to Lake Sumter State College's success. The Student Assistant will provide essential support, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure the efficient operation of departmental activities.

This is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 20-25 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate the student’s academic and other responsibilities.

Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating values.

Students cannot work during class.

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Communicate with admitted and prospective students via email, phone, text, and Zoom to guide them through enrollment

• Follow up with students as necessary

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled at Lake Sumter State College (min. 6 credit hours)
• Currently, hold and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
