Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience within the New Jersey Medical School ( NJMS ).

Under supervision, the Student Assistant performs and assists with laboratory services and procedures in support of research activities of the laboratory. Performs other related laboratory duties as required.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Ensures that glassware and equipment are kept clean and are properly stored; keeps laboratory clean.
  • Prepares stock solutions and buffers
  • Assists with the maintenance of the laboratory facilities, equipment and instruments.
  • Initiates inventory control of laboratory supplies, prepares and processes orders for supplies as needed.
  • Maintain mouse and rat colony (for ex, genotyping, breeding, weaning).
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards
