Job summary

The YMCA of Central Kentucky is seeking energetic, caring, and dependable individuals to join our School Age Child Care team as After School Group Leaders.

You must be a current UK student to apply. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK. The role involves implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum and ensuring children’s safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Two years of experience working with or caring for children preferred.
• Some college education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the school age child care site director in implementing curriculum.
• Assume responsibility for the safety of the children at all times and maintain daily records.
• Uphold the association's child protection policies, child abuse and neglect guidelines and proper reporting procedures.
• Attend all staff meetings and in-service training as required by the YMCA.
• Prepare daily snacks for the children and support healthy eating and physical activity initiatives.
• Direct and assist daily cleaning and maintenance of the space and/or facility.
