Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking an Admissions Assistant to staff the Admissions Information / Call Center. This part-time role supports recruitment and student success by serving as the primary contact for calls, emails, letters, and requests related to recruitment and general inquiries.

The successful candidate will speak enthusiastically about the University from a student perspective and help current and prospective students with information and guidance.

Qualifications

• Must be a current University of Utah undergraduate student.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong writing ability (may be asked to provide a writing sample).
• Strong speaking/phone skills.
• Able to relay complex information to a variety of people.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new software systems.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and e-mails from current and prospective students/families.
• Assist recruitment staff with counselor correspondence.
• Other recruitment, clerical and office duties as assigned.
