Job summary

The Washoe County School District is seeking a Student Activity Funds Technician to review school activity fund reports, assist with recording and reporting, and train users of the student activity funds software. Under supervision, you will prepare accounting and narrative reports, help ensure compliance with district policies, and support school personnel in handling funds and reconciliations.

This role requires knowledge of basic accounting principles, strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

• Education: 15 semester units or 22 quarter accounting/auditing coursework.
• Experience: 2 years accounting or auditing experience.
• Or: 3 years full accounting/auditing with governmental, commercial, or industrial exposure.
• Knowledge of basic accounting theory and non-profit accounting principles.
• Proficient with computerized accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Examines, analyzes and verifies accounting records, financial statements and related data for internal controls.
• Maintains computerized records and prepares reports and statements.
• Oversees and trains school staff in monies handling and record-keeping duties.
