Job summary

Proviso Math & Science Academy seeks an Athletics/Activities/Activity Sponsor to organize, supervise, and promote a student organization aligned with the district's mission and student development goals.

As a mentor and liaison among students, staff, and administration, you will ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging extracurricular experience while upholding district policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in school settings.
• Ability to collaborate with students, staff and administration.
• Willingness to assume responsibility for all duties of the sponsor role.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for club-related activities, meetings, events and practices with safety in mind.
• Ensure all off-campus activities follow district procedures and obtain necessary approvals.
• Comply with mandated reporting requirements under Illinois law.
• Prepare students for participation and clearly define expectations and responsibilities.
• Guide students to plan inclusive, meaningful activities aligned with club mission and school values.
• Coordinate facility usage and logistics to ensure well-organized, safe events.
• Use data to inform program decisions and improve club impact.
• Participate in sponsor meetings, events and post-activity evaluations.
