Job summary

Northeastern University is seeking a Student Account Representative to serve as the primary contact for students, parents, faculty, and staff regarding Student Accounts. You will provide top-tier customer service in person, by phone, and electronically, explaining billing details and NU procedures.

The role involves counseling students and parents on policies, payment options, and resolving account conflicts with Financial Aid, Registrar, Housing, and academic departments.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience required.
  • Strong communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Explain student account credits/debits and NU billing procedures to students and parents.
  • Assist with customer service to over 150,000 contacts.
  • Provide customer service in accordance with regulations and policies for numerous federal/state rules.

Student Account Representative
About the Opportunity
Job Summary:

The Student Account Representative serves as the primary contactfor students, parents, faculty, staff, and other involved partiesconcerning all related activities regarding Student Accounts. Thisposition provides the highest level of customer service (via inperson, phone, and electronic communications) regarding financialstatus with the University

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Student and Parent Customer Service:
  • Through appointments, e-mail, written correspondence, andtelephone communications, explain line item and summary of studentaccount credits/debits and NU billing procedures.
  • Assists with customer service to over 150,000 contacts.
  • Responsible for providing customer service in accordance withfederal, state, and institutional regulations and policies for over7,000 separate federal and state regulations.
Student Account Management:
  • Counsel and advise students and parents on student accountpolicies, payment processing, and financing options.
  • Research and provide account conflict resolutions withFinancial Aid, Registrar, Housing, Academic Departments, etc.
Events and Other duties as assigned:
  • Represent Student Accounts at Open Houses, orientations,workshops, recruitment, and advising programs.
  • Process student account payments from students, scholarshiporganizations or 529 savings plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Customer service experience required. Strong communications,interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstratedability to work with a diverse student and parent population.
  • Banner experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills required for this position are typicallyacquired through the completion of a High School Diploma;Associates Degree preferred.
  • One year of experience in a higher education studentaccounts/bursar office or related field desired.

Expected Hiring Range:

$20.77 - $28.56
