The University of South Dakota is seeking an Accommodations Coordinator for the Office of Accessibility in Vermillion. This role coordinates reasonable accommodations to ensure access to academic programs and services for students.

Under the Director of Accessibility/504 Compliance, the candidate will be energetic, team-oriented, and committed to helping students enhance self-advocacy and independence as they pursue goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related or transferable discipline.
• 1–3 years of related experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.
• Ability to interpret documentation, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for students requesting accommodations.
• Review medical and psychological documentation to determine eligibility.
• Approve, coordinate, and monitor accommodation plans.
• Provide exam accommodations, including proctoring, scribing, or reading.
• Assist with accessible technology and accessible media needs.
• Maintain accurate case files and documentation.
• Work with faculty and staff to address accommodation needs and support classroom implementation.
• Provide case management and collaborate on process improvements.
• Supervise student workers who assist with accommodation delivery.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act.
