Job summary

Solidus Technical Solutions is seeking a Test Development Engineer for onsite work in Tewksbury, MA, requiring an active Secret clearance. You will join a multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and deploy advanced test stations for factory and depot facilities worldwide.

You will develop electrical test hardware and software, using C/C++, LabVIEW, and OrCAD/Cadence Allegro, collaborating across RF, Power, Digital, and Analog domains to meet program standards and milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is required.
• Active Secret clearance is required for hire.
• 2 years of professional engineering experience in hardware and software test solutions.
• Experience developing automated test software using C, C++, C#, LabVIEW or TestStand.

Responsibilities

• Develop test stations and fixtures, capturing electrical schematics and PCB designs with OrCAD/Cadence Allegro.
• Design and deploy automated test software to interface with test instruments and equipment.
• Collaborate in a 5–10 engineer team across RF, Power, Digital, and Analog disciplines.
• Align designs with project standards from inception to depot deployment.

Job Description

This position requires onsite work in Tewksbury, MA and an active Secret security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus is seeking an adaptable and collaborative STS Test Development Engineer to join our team. In this multi-faceted hardware and software role, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of complex test equipment for factory and depot facilities worldwide. Operating within a process-heavy, team-based environment, you will bridge the gap between electrical engineering design and automation to develop advanced test stations and fixtures.

Day in the Life:

• Drive the development of test stations and fixture designs, executing electrical schematic captures and PCB designs utilizing tools like OrCAD and Cadence Allegro
• Design and deploy automated test software solutions to interface with electrical test instruments and equipment
• Execute assigned technical tasks in a 5-to-10 engineer team setting, collaborating across diverse disciplines such as RF, Power, Digital, and Analog fields
• Work seamlessly within a highly process-driven development framework, aligning designs with project standards from initial inception to depot deployment
• Active participant in scheduled project meetings, detailing progress updates periodically (daily/weekly) to the designated technical project lead
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Secret clearance is required
• 2 years of professional engineering experience in hardware and software test solutions development
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering)
• Proven experience operating electrical test instruments alongside fundamental knowledge of Power, RF, Digital Logic, or Analog circuit topologies
• Hands-on experience developing automated test software using C, C++, C#, LabVIEW, or TestStand, as well as schematic capture using OrCAD/Cadence Allegro
• Exceptional collaborative capability and communication skills tailored for structured, team-centric project environments
• Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) project development life-cycle processes
• Experience with project leadership frameworks, including cost and schedule management via MS Project or Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.

Full benefits: $92,500 to $116,000 annually
Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $125,000 annually
