Job summary

Solidus Technical Solutions, LLC in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Test Systems Engineer to support the Test Solution Engineering (TSE) team. The role involves delivering advanced test solutions across a missile portfolio, developing Windows-based applications and engineering systems for labs, production, and field operations.

It is a hands-on position spanning the full lifecycle from design verification to sustainment.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with eight years of related engineering experience (or a STEM Masters with six years).
• Experience in Systems Engineering or related discipline including test requirements development, test methodologies, and verification/validation for test.
• Experience with developing or managing system requirements across a product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Apply subsystem knowledge and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop and implement the subsystem model using Model Based Systems Engineering tools and methods.
• Detail capabilities and derive requirements.
• Communicate test equipment needs and requirements to Test Equipment designers.
• Manage requirements and traceability.
• Develop subsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture.
• Interact with Technical SMEs to understand subsystem and support related trades or analysis.

This position requires onsite work in Tucson, AZ and an active Secret security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus is hiring a Principal Test Systems Engineer to support the Test Solution Engineering (TSE) team. In this role, you will be part of a cutting‑edge, multidisciplinary organization responsible for delivering advanced test solutions across a broad missile portfolio. Our team develops and integrates state‑of‑the‑art Windows-based applications and engineering systems used in labs, production environments, and field operations. This is a hands‑on opportunity to contribute to complex, high‑impact programs spanning the full engineering lifecycle-from early demonstrations and design verification to production and sustainment.

Day In The Life

• Apply your knowledge of the subsystem andcollaboratewith other Engineering disciplines todevelopand implement the subsystem model using Model Based System Engineeringtoolsand methods
• Detail capabilities and derive requirements
• Communicate test equipment needs and requirements to Test Equipment designers
• Manage requirements and traceability
• Leverage and apply reuse of Test Environment requirements and models to promote efficiency in test design and development
• Developsubsystem requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture
• Interactwith Technical SMEs as necessary to fullyunderstandthe subsystem including identifying and resolving issues andsupportingrelated subsystem trades or analysis
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Active Secret clearance is required
• Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of eight (8) years of directly related engineering experience (or a STEM Masters with 6 years related experience)
• Experience in Systems Engineering or other Engineering discipline such as but not limited to emphasis in test requirements development, test methodologies, test requirements documents, integration, verification, and/or validation for test
• Experience with developing, decomposing, and/ or managing system requirements across a product lifecycle such as design and transition to production
• Experience with test related activities throughout the product lifecycle
• Experience with Model Based Engineering processes, techniques, and tools (Rhapsody and IBM Rational Model Manager and/or Cameo Systems Modeler/Enterprise Architect and Teamwork Cloud preferred, and experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and/or Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis, and/or design for manufacturing
• Experience with Agile processes and techniques
• Experience with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
• Experience problem solving and debugging
• Experience recognizing areas of improvement or customer needs and relaying them to senior staff as business development possibilities
• Experience demonstrating a sense of urgency, prudent risk-taking and adaptive response to challenges.
• Dependingon level of experience, you will provide mentoring and guidance to other team members
